The Good Life

Have a funny reason,
For belief in my Father
Yes I do,
Can't see religion,
as pain to go through.

Got to be crazy,
For belief in the Son,
Yes I am,
Rather be crazy,
For the person I am.

People think it's nonsense,
to believe in the Spirit,
but I do,
No harm in saying,
That He's carried me through.

Give me the good life,
I'll be so happy,
wait and see.
Give me the good life,
and it's bound to be fine.

Can't give a phony reason,
for the stand that I'm taking,
No I can't.
Rather be a poor man,
Than a rich man in hell.

I don't deserve it,
(truth be told)
Cut up my credit cards,
paid my bills,
Only an illusion,
But my debt's already paid.

Something of a quandary,
this joy has found me,
Yes it has.
Why can they see You,
as the master of them.

They say give me the good life, the good life.
And they'll be so happy,
No they won't
'till they confess Jesus
as their Lord and King.

Got to go and tell them,
That He for us all,
Yes He did.
Took all the beating,
and nails on the cross.

He buried our sinfulness,
in deepest of graveyards,
Yes He did.
Rose again in glory.
Someday we'll be with Him.

We have the good life,
and we're so happy,
wait and see.
We have the good life, the good life.
And we are just fine.
